I am 21 and overweight (5 foot 7" and 12st 8lbs) and I want to lose weight to look better but more importantly to feel better. My diet isn't always awful but I don't exercise ever and this has led to a gradual increase in my weight over the years.
Last week I stayed at home for a week and seriously over indulged. I didn't put on weight but felt groggy and horrible afterwards, so decided to detox for a week in the hope that I would feel healthier and also kick start some weight loss.
I have been eating a predominantly vegetable and egg white diet this week paired with lots of water and have so far lost 5lbs (so now 12st 3lbs). I've been eating: honey and lemon in hot water before breakfast, a 3 egg white omelete and grilled tomatoes for breakfast, lots of salad and boiled egg whites for lunch, roasted butternut squash, roasted carrots, brocolli, corn on the cob, swede mash, kale for dinner with carrots and cherry tomatoes as snacks. It's tough because I crave chocolate and burgers lol, but I'm not feeling hungry because I'm constantly snacking on the right things. It feels brilliant but this is only a small milestone towards my eventual goal.
I would like to reach 11 stone which is another 19lbs away. I want to do this detox until Sunday but then want to continue my weightloss gradually with healthy eating and a little bit of exercise (I have arthritis that makes this difficult but can go on walks or bike rides).
I know rapid weightloss doesn't work in the long term, but I've only used it to start me off. My plan is from next week to have a daily diet something like this: honey and lemon in hot water before breakfast, small bowl of muesli with splash of semi-skimmed milk for breakfast, salad and boiled egg whites for lunch, tons of veg (as above) for dinner but with a small amount of potato and some chicken breast or fish, carrots/cherry tomatoes for snacks or maybe a fat free yoghurt.
Will i put the weight back on if I add this dairy/protein to my diet? Or will I be able to continue losing weight but at a much slower pace?
