This is the only thread on the entire forum that you are absolutely required to read in order to join. Everything else is recommended (please read them), but I'm not going to require a password to prove that you read them or hunt you down (I promise). What you are required to do is:
• Read this notice
• Follow the rules
Don't think you can follow rules you haven't read? Then read them.
Otherwise, most are pretty obvious and self-evident, and I have faith that those with common sense can guess what they say. If you want to make sure, though, that is why they are posted.
Some things in the rules are site specific or unique. This includes rules about NPCs, application titles, max. image sizes, dating first posts, etc. More reason that you should read them.
You should definitely read the plot. I don't think I need to stress that, as I can't imagine someone who hasn't read the plot wanting to join anyway. There are a lot of reference threads on the plot, setting, characters, etc., and they are there to help you.
Instead of creating really tight rules and restricting who joins, I've decided to devote the time and effort to assisting those whose posts, applications and the like fall short of what we are trying to accomplish. I don't reject applications, I post suggestions so that it may be edited until I deem it acceptable.
It shouldn't be too hard: information is provided, the requirements are pretty loose, I'm offering guidance, and spell check is readily available.
You'll notice that the admin of this site is quite active. I recommend using that to your advantage. Really, I'm here to help.
