i've read all of the important boards (i think), and none of them have answered this question (unless i missed it, which then i apologise for being an idiot):
are face claims required? i don't join sites that demand that the character's image must be a famous person - i use stock photos, from flickr's creative commons or wherever, usually, and i much prefer that to face claims because i can never find pictures of famous people and i'm not all that interested in famous weirdos either. Rules & Regulations, "In the Roleplay": Face claims cannot be cartoons -- this includes anime. You aren't required to use a faceclaim, or have a signature or avatar. There you go! ^_^ I know it's a bit confusing, having that under "in the roleplay", but I thought it fit more than "being a member". So, basically, no, face claims are not required. By "face claim" I mean a play-by, whether celebrity or not. You can use a picture of anyone, really; however, I would prefer that you don't use really outrageously modern-style play-bys (with liberty spikes, emo sweeps or snakebite piercings, I mean) because it'd be a a huge stretch with the setting. But, all in all, the only thing that is required is that the play-by be a real person (or look very close to one), not a cartoon or drawing. As for celebrities vs. other, that's entirely up to you. Thanks for asking! If you need any more help, be sure to come back here and I'll be happy to assist.

Question: I am considering abou joining, and I was goint to use one of the needed characters (Delilah Straneway). After I make an account and fill out the application, do I just post the app using Delilah or do I need to let you know first that I'm using her?
Thanks!

Omg Telsa i love you for even considering to play her! She's the one I wanted played the most! *huggles!*
Sorry I'm not actually answering your question though. I've found that even though I think I might know the answer it's easier to just let the admin answer when they're as active on the site as Victoria is.
If you have an questions about Delilah though feel free to message me! ^_^

Telsa: We'll know from the name. Just apply as usual, but make sure that you also add a roleplay example. Thanks for applying for her!

I've looked through just about this whole site, reading important post and what not. It's very interesting and creative and I'm thinking about joining. I just have one question. If I do join, does my username have to be the name of my character or can I choose?

As far as I'm aware you're supposed to use your character's name - but if you're like me and don't know what you're going to call your character, then just join using any name and change it later on once you've decided, that's what I did when I first joined (:
Hope that helps !

Vix correct me if i'm wrong but I believe your user name can be whatever you want, so long as you change your display name to your character's name once your app is approved. Hope I helped clear things up! i.e. - my username is 'lilxmzxit' but i changed my display name to match my charrie alastair's BTW - For Vix! I had a question of my own. It's about the Guardian shifting law. That they can't shift in front of a human. I was wondering if this meant that they can't shift into their human form in front of people or that they can't shift period in front of people. I understand the no shifting to human in front of a person, because that would just give away everything. But if they can't even shift to their hybrid big cat form in front of people then it seems like they wouldn't really be able to do their job at all. If they couldn't even go hybrid size in front of a human they wouldn't be able to protect them in a fight. Say, if Alastair was escorting Bess to Elencastel and they got attacked by Maddock or someone, then Alastair would be a 15lb cat taking on a Gewyn. Even if he shifted while Bess wasn't looking she'd definitely notice that Mister Alastair turned into a freaking cougar. And if he wasn't allowed at all...Bess...would get eaten.

Lexi is correct. Thanks, Lexi! Your username can be whatever you want, the only rule is that your display name must be your character's first and last name (if they are human; non-humans don't have last names) once your app is approved.

Glad I helped lol The whole Guardian maybe having to shift in some way in front of a villager hasn't happened yet, but I want to make sure I know what's ok and what's not if/when it does >.<

Oh my gosh I completely forgot to answer this question! Sorry, Lexi darling. Okay, so this is a bit unclear. I think that I left it unclear because I wasn't too sure. But anyway, since I'm forced to give a direct answer now (it was going to happen sooner or later), I'll just say that the law forbids shifting in front of a human at all, including to their big cat form. Griffin lost family to that dilemma. If a Guardian shifted to hybrid form in front of a human, there would be a trial and then the elders would decide punishment based on the situation, the human, and the intent. It likely wouldn't mean death, but it might at least mean some form of punishment.

While this subject can be very touchy for most people, my opinion is that there has to be a middle or common ground that we all can find. seo servicesI do appreciate that youve added relevant and intelligent commentary here though. SEO SpecialistThank you!
