NAME— James Knighton.
AGE— Sixteen.
GENDER— Male.
SPECIES— Human (Villager).
APPEARANCE— James is considerably a handsome youth, standing at five feet and eight inches tall. He weighs one-hundred and twelve pounds, with a leanly muscled body. Such a figure seems to be natural, since he’s hardly ever had to lift a finger in his life.
Short and thick, wavy blond hair complements fair skin and brilliant blue eyes. James’s face is oval in shape, with features like that of his father. He has a thin and centered nose, a defined chin, and thick and rosy lips. It’s perhaps the youth’s looks that make him one of the most eligible males in Benevolence.
His clothing is always neat and free of wrinkles or stains. James’s shirts are made of white linen, with laced collars. His coats are made of usually red, green, or blue velvet (sometimes silk), with breeches of matching color and material. The youth’s stockings are also of white linen, and his shoes of shined black leather with bronze buckles. While James’s overall appearance reflects his high birth, he doesn’t wish to give the impression that he’s snobbish or uptight; rather, he and his family are far from it.
PLAY-BY— Lucas Till.
PERSONALITY— James is a kind and gentle youth, something one doesn’t usually think of from one of such a fine and influential family. He tries to be as friendly as possible to everyone he meets, whether they treat him the same or not in return. He cares deeply for others, willing to help someone in any way he can.
The Knightons are unusually generous, giving vast amounts of food, crops, and livestock to the poor and needy. James himself will happily give money to anyone he sees who he believes that needs it. His temperament is usually happy and cheerful, it being strange for him to be sad or angry. The youth doesn’t like to be angry, and any negative feelings he experiences, he tries to keep bottled up inside.
As James is such a sweet person, he’s also somewhat naïve and gullible. He doesn’t like to think that anyone or anything can be bad, and can usually find the good in people. Just because he’s simple doesn’t mean he’s stupid or foolish. In fact, he’s rather the opposite. James is also honest, deeply religious, and knows to stay away from the woods. His goodness in general makes him a very likable sort.
HISTORY— The Knighton family is one of Benevolence’s most wealthy and influential families, with a pedigree tracing back centuries; there’s even royal blood in the line. Sir William Knighton and his wife were among Branborough's first settlers, establishing the family as one of its most well-known and prosperous. It was an undoubted blessing when a grandson and his young wife, Francis and Jane Knighton, celebrated the birth of twins, a boy and girl. The son was named James; his sister, Mary. Both were beautiful children, inheriting their father’s looks, but their mother’s temperament.
James and Mary were brought up in a loving and happy home. They were not only close to each other, but their parents as well. They were given the best things money could buy – clothes, education, caring – things many could only dream of. Despite the family’s riches, they were always kind and generous to the townspeople, making them one of Belvedere’s most liked and respected families as well.
Eventually, the twins transitioned from childhood to adolescence. James grew to be as handsome as Mary was beautiful, and now that both are of marrying age, the villagers wonder who their respective spouses will be. James will become a wealthy farmer like his father before him, and will inherit the family’s lands and estate upon Francis’s passing. Mary’s hand is sought by many of the men in Benevolence, not only because of her beauty, but the immense dowry and impressive lineage that comes with her.

SAMPLE ROLE-PLAY—
Ferdinand removed his hat and smiled at Elietta, ready to tell her how he felt about her. The girl seemed delighted by his gifts, though it appeared she didn't know why he'd brought them. "Why should you only receive gifts on your birthday?"
The boy was shocked by Elietta's punishment. If she'd done something wrong, he'd understand; but being punished for nothing? How awful! "I'm sorry to hear that. If you ask me, it's quite unfair." He felt the greatest concern and compassion for her, apparent by the frown that suddenly appeared on his face. When Elietta asked Ferdinand again as to what troubled him, he thought it might make her feel better. "Elietta, I love you. You're the loveliest woman I've ever laid eyes on, and I'll die without you." The Prince had never been so passionate in his life, but he couldn't help it.
Ferdinand's breath stilled in his chest, knowing it was obviously surprising (and perhaps even shocking); but his heart wouldn't give him peace until he knew whether Elietta returned his feelings or not. A look of worry was present on his face as he waited silently for her reply.
Meanwhile, Zephyr was returning from school. It let out later than his brother or sister's, which greatly irritated him. Zephyr's over-sized backpack caused him to stoop over and walk at a slow pace. "Stupid homework. Why can't I get a break for once?" the boy thought to himself, snorting. As Zephyr turned the corner, he saw Ferdinand climbing into Elietta's room. "I wonder what's going on..." the boy thought.
Deciding to find out for himself, Zephyr walked as quickly as he was able to the ladder and heaved his backpack onto the ground. He then proceeded to climb up the ladder, and when he jumped inside Elietta's room, he caught his sister and Ferdinand together. The Prince spun around to see him, his blue eyes wide with fear. Zephyr crossed his arms and smiled. "Don't worry! I'm not gonna rat you guys out. I know you wouldn't do anything bad." Shortly after that, a loud banging would be heard at the door.
Kovu's voice was loud and filled with anger, worrying Ferdinand. He held a deep respect for the lion and his family, and he didn't wish to fall in bad favor with him. Zephyr looked at his sister and the Prince, thinking of an idea. "Dad, it's just me! I'm just showing Elietta how better I've gotten at juggling." The child hoped his cover had worked, because Ferdinand's life and Elietta's welfare depended on it.
