Player’s Name: Lem
Roleplay Experience: Four Years
Name: Cadfael
Species: Gewyn
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty-Two
Appearance:
In the alter form of the gewin, Cadfael is a tall, young male humanoid. His name is a Welsh name meaning "battle prince", and it quite does describe both his personality and his appearance. His short hair is much darker than the main color of his wolf coat; a warm, dark chestnut-like color and he has distinctive pale blue eyes. He has a "royal" stance to him, the gait of his steps ringing with confidence and superiority, and walks with a lupine grace in his steps, definitely deserving his the second part of his name. Cadfael shares the pale skin of all Gewin; skin that has to be content with the glow of the moon rather than the kiss of the sun. The pallor of his skin, while seeming quite perfect in the dark night, would most likely appear very sickly in the sun; so it's a good thing that it never will see the sun.
As the wolf, Cadfael's form is similar to the timber wolf. Unlike the warm chestnut color of his hair in the humanoid form, his thick fur coat is the distinctive grey and brown of the breed, even having the familiar markings and patterns. Just like in his humanoid form, his eyes are pale, crystalline blue. His long, white fangs are enough to scare away any human who dares try to get to close to him; not that there are any idiotic enough to try that. It's those teeth and eyes that not only make a human all the better to eat them with, but give him the scary look of a Gewyn in the day.
Personality:
Cadfael is the type that when he has an opinion against another's', they will know it. He has to get his point across to people and does a decent job of it. Who argues with a giant dog-person? He does get irritated by the others easily, a reason why he does avoid the other Gewin, and often seeks out fights with others who he crosses paths with. His aggressive nature makes him hard to get along with, but he does try (Note he tries, but isn't always so successful) to control his notoriously short temper in the presence of females. The female gewin are quite lucky to be in the soft spot in Cadfael's heart. He is kinder to them, but he doesn't think they're really that strong or smart; and that's fine with him. The idea of having someone who would be dependent on him for life and more is something that has entertained his mind before. It might just be how similar he is to a wolf, but he quite enjoys the thought of leadership. No, he rather desires the role of a leader. His love for being the one in control, the "top dog" is what drives him. It's what keeps him from backing down and retreating into the cold safety of the shadows.
Biography:
Cadfael is the lucky child of his mother Aderyn and father Iago. Learning how to behave as a Gewin was a difficult concept for Cadfael to grasp for his first few years of being taught by his parents. He couldn't quite understand the difference between the guardians and the gewin. As far as the young gewyn was concerned, they shouldn't argue with each other. Guardians were almost the same to the Gewin, in Cadfael's mind, just they were cat's and never had a thirst they had to give in to. After a few years of hard work and practice young Cadfael soon learned why. These guardians were attached to the village; they were part of the village. These creatures must see the Gewin as a threat the their village and therefore a threat to themselves, or at least that's what Cadfael had thought. Being thought of as an enemy, a threat, the young gewyn learned to resent both the guardians and those villagers that he would take his sustenance from. So Cadfael grew older as the years passed. He did what all the other Gewin seemed to do; he thirst, he ate, he fought, he made mistakes, and he learned from those mistakes. When he reached a certain age, he left his family to travel alone until he made his own family. The first year on his own was the roughest. He hadn't quite expected it to be so difficult and so lonely. Without someone else there to lean onto and to be dependent on him was a new concept to him. It was a new thought that he'd have to get over and keep running, or he'd be stuck behind.
