When Mr. Bray finally reached town, his hands started to itch and his mouth twitched nervously, the way it usually did when confronted with common folk, whom he considered beneath his attention. For once, these sentiments were discarded as he marched on in a superior manner with his head nearly touching the clouds, his nose was so high up. The outsider quickly located the pub and snickered at the name: The Nine Wands Inn & Pub. What sort of silly name was that? Nevertheless, he condescended to enter the establishment and approached the man behind the counter.
"Good day, sir," Bray managed to sound polite because he believed himself to face a man of some importance around here. "I am Mr. Bray and I recently purchased the castle in the woods, Edencastel. As such, I am in need of staff and I thought I might advertise here. It looks like a friendly enough place," he continued and feigned a smile.
"You have the advertisement with you now?" the bartender enquired, which the stranger confirmed with a wave of his hand. "Might I hang it on your wall here? I considered notifying the newspaper but Benevolence seems a rather small place so it could be money ill spent," he observed, taking in his new surroundings.
"Agreed. The pub is crowded enough so it should do very well," the man replied and Mr. Bray motioned to the wall and attached his ad to it.
"Thank you kindly, sir," Mr. Bray said after admiring the paper from a distance to ensure it was well-written and easy to read but his penmanship was as fine as any gentleman's so he removed himself from the pub with a feeling of satisfaction. Now all he need do was wait for the first applicant.
