Player’s Name: Ben
Roleplay Experience: 6+ years
Name: Evelyn Jade Amnell
Species: human/sorceress
Gender: female
Age: 25
Appearance:
Jade stands at 5’8”, tall for a woman, but quite average for her kind. One wouldn’t call her slim, but one would not call her overly large either. Her body frame fitting into that well defined voluptuous figure that made both men and women stare when they very well shouldn’t. She has mysterious gray/blue eyes that hold more knowledge than they should. Deep brown hair tumbles down almost to her mid back, in waves that seem almost unnatural.
Personality:
Jade has a personality that would drive most good Samaritans deep into their homes. There is an unearthly quality about her, in her movements, her speech, and in her eyes. Those that have not come to know of her craft fear her and those that do know what she is find her all that more frightening. The truth is that Jade is a pleasant and kind woman. She is wise far beyond her years and cares deeply for all creatures of the world. Compassionate and self-sacrificing Jade would do anything to help others. She is a natural healer and she uses this talent on her travels, never stopping quite long enough to settle down with her husband, whom is just as mysterious as she herself is.
Jade cannot stand being trapped places. After a rough childhood in which her powers were distorted and used for profit Jade has come to trust very few on her journeys, even though she helps all that she can she doesn’t trust them. Her abilities are kept quiet except when they are needed. Finding that her abilities set her apart from the rest of the world she has an odd belief that they are sometimes more of a curse than a blessing, but overall feels that the gods have blessed her for a reason. This alone gives her faith in the powers that be, a belief in the higher beings that control the world around her. She hopes to make a difference and always finds herself in the place she is needed most at that time, never quite moving on until she feels the gods telling her to.
Biography:
Evelyn Jade Halifax was born at some point during year XXX. The exact date is unknown as her mother, Elise Halifax, passed away not two months past her birth date and her father, Kerr Halifax, knew little of dates back then. Even as a baby she held an unnaturalness about her. Kerr Halifax always thought there was something different about his daughter…as if she were truly knowledgeable about things that she could not have any knowledge about. As she grew older it became apparent that she truly was different. Her gray/blue eyes were always watching and even when they weren’t she knew what was going on. It unnerved her father, but he wouldn’t abandon her like the other villagers pleaded for him to do. They believed she was evil…the knowledge she held was dangerous and could only be told to her by demons. Her father of course wouldn’t listen; he found that she was perfect, even in her strange and frightening way. He wouldn’t let anyone near her…protected her with his life. He called her Jade, instead of using her proper name. It was his nickname for her, ‘a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl,’ he would say. It is why she still goes by that name to this day instead of Evelyn. Her father couldn’t have been better to her. The protection he gave her kept her from ever feeling as if she were in danger. However one can only do so much before the inevitable happens.
Jade wasn’t even seven years old when she was stolen from her father. Her powers were to be exploited, used for gain instead of good. Every night she’d be forced to sit with her ‘master’ at the tables, while he gambled away his life. Every time he lost she would be the one to pay the price later. It was training in some form and fashion. She had to learn control over her powers…trying to sense how things would end…trying to see it. For five years he was master over her and it was lucky that at the age of twelve he still didn’t find her woman enough to do other things. Fortunately for Jade a stranger came into her life, a woman that would become her mentor. She stole Jade away from the man, refusing to allow her to be mistreated for one more moment. This woman’s name was Meredith Johnson, a fascinating woman that knew a thing or two about what was going on with Jade. Over the next ten years she would train Jade, teach her how to use her talents and how to keep them secret and safe.
Those ten years were some of the best times of Jade’s life and even though she missed her father still, it was Meredith that taught her not to regret the past, but to embrace it. So that’s what she learned to do. She embraced her past, her present, and her future. Her compassion and kindness toward others was what caused her joy and that’s what she began to do. At the age of 22 she left Meredith to continue training and teaching other young men and women. Jade knew that moving from village to village was the best idea, always keeping on the move. It was one of the things Meredith had taught her, but even then there were going to be a few that stood in her way, that didn’t appreciate what she brought to their village. Finding herself on the wrong end of one town’s counselor Jade was locked up…her arms and legs strapped down, her body immobilized. This would be where she met her husband, Kieran Amnell, a man that was sent by Meredith to find her, to protect her. Breaking her out of her prison they ran together and soon were to be married.
Together they travel the world, stopping in villages to help when they must. Jade’s uncanny healing techniques and visions along with Kieran’s sword skills they were a perfect match. It seemed they spent no more than a day or two in each village…well it was that way until they found themselves in the village of Benevolence. A mysterious village, with an even darker history than anyone could possibly imagine. Jade’s first reaction was to get out of there as fast as possible, but as the sun sank and the moon rose, the howls of the wolves made her blood run cold. They were no ordinary wolves, of that she was certain, and the cats…well they were certainly not normal. In that quiet little village Jade discovered a secret world that she had no idea existed and as such she felt she’d finally found the place the gods had always pushed her to go to. That meant she wasn’t going to leave quietly, no matter what the town folk thought of her and her profession.
