The Clans around the lake had earned their exalted status as legendary Clans again. They were LionClan, LeopardClan, CheetahClan, TigerClan, and LynxClan as in the days of old.
Then the meteor hit, miles away. All the prey in their territory scattered like leaffall leaves in a strong wind, and the Clans grew hungry. Soon they knew they had to leave. Through a mountain pass they traveled, and here they lost Cloudstar, Desertstar, and the great Hawkstar. They were in turmoil, starving and hurting and missing their leaders, and StarClan ripped LynxClan apart, forcing them to choose between joining LionClan and going farther on the Journey or staying in the mountains and becoming CloudClan, named for the kidnapped leader.
They went through the pass and into a valley, perfect, untouched, ready for them to make a home. There was one problem.
It was already inhabited.
The cats here were peaceful, with no fighting ability whatsoever. They were willing to share their forest, as there was plenty to go around.
The Clans didn't want to share.
It wasn't a fight. It was a slaughter. Some ran. Most didn't get the chance.
StarClan descended upon the murders with all their wrath. The legendary names were stripped by the vengeful spirits.
"Now that you have murdered innocent cats who were willing to share with you for the sake of your own selves, your territories will dictate who you are as Clans. LionClan, you will be TimberClan, for the blood-stained timber in your part of the forest. TigerClan, your dark pine forests will consume your essence. You are DarkClan now. LeopardClan, the streams wind through this land and run thick with blood. You are StreamClan. CheetahClan, the breeze in your moor carries with it the screams of the dying. You are BreezeClan. Go now and live with what you have done."
Now the Clans must live with their choices and find a way to survive in their new home.
Do they still believe in legends?
